HOLLYWOOD CAME FOR THE ODYSSEY.
A film promotion trip became an unexpected journey through the city.
Director Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas, and actors Matt Damon and Charlize Theron arrived in Korea to promote The Odyssey.
But between press conferences and red-carpet appearances, they found time to experience Seoul—not only as film stars, but as travelers.
From a small bakery in an old neighborhood to the energy of Korean baseball and contemporary Korean fine dining, Seoul became another memorable chapter in their journey.

♦️MEMORABLE SEOUL MOMENTS♦️ |
1. Salt Bread in Old Seoul |
Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas explored the narrow streets of Ikseon-dong, stopped at a local café, and tried one of Korea’s most popular bakery treats: sogeum-ppang, or Korean salt bread.
They also enjoyed a walk along the Han River, taking in the city’s natural scenery and everyday atmosphere.
Sometimes, the most memorable side of Seoul is found not at a famous landmark, but in a quiet alley, a local café, and a simple bite of something delicious.

2. Matt Damon Discovers K-Baseball
Matt Damon headed to Gocheok Sky Dome to watch a Kiwoom Heroes home game.
Wearing the team’s uniform, he experienced the chants, music, cheering, and lively atmosphere that make Korean professional baseball a cultural experience of its own.
He even signed a baseball for a young fan he met in the stands.

3. A Modern Journey Through Korean Cuisine |
The group came together for dinner at Eatanic Garden, the Michelin-starred Korean fine-dining restaurant led by Chef Son Jong-won.
The seasonal tasting menu reinterpreted Korean ingredients through contemporary presentation and storytelling. A special Trojan Horse-inspired dessert was also prepared to celebrate Christopher Nolan’s birthday—and the epic story at the heart of The Odyssey.
It was more than dinner. It was another way to experience Korea.
