Museum Turns Pink — When Heritage Meets Global Pop

In the spring of 2026,
the National Museum of Korea speaks to the world in a new language.

As part of a global cultural initiative,
the museum partners with the world-renowned K-POP group BLACKPINK.

🎧 Listening Zone Opens: February 27 at 2:00 PM

This collaboration is more than a lighting event.

The museum’s façade and open plaza will glow in BLACKPINK’s signature pink,
transforming a space shaped by centuries of history
into a canvas of contemporary expression.

Where royal artifacts and global pop culture coexist,
the museum becomes more than a gallery of the past.

It becomes a stage where memory meets momentum,
where heritage is reinterpreted in the language of today.

This spring, Seoul once again evolves—
into a living cultural platform
where tradition and global fandom converge.

Inside the museum’s “Path of History” gallery,
a dedicated Listening Zone will feature BLACKPINK’s new full-length album [DEADLINE]. All five tracks, including the title song “GO,” will be available to experience within the symbolic setting of the museum.

By placing contemporary music within a space shaped by centuries of history,
the exhibition introduces a new mode of engagement
where sound and heritage coexist.

This project highlights eight major works representing Korea’s cultural heritage.

Among them are:

* Gold Wing-shaped Crown Ornament

* Gilt-bronze Pensive Bodhisattva

* Ten-story Stone Pagoda of Gyeongcheonsa Temple

* Stone Standing Maitreya Bodhisattva from Gamsansa Temple Site

* Gold Earrings

* White Porcelain Moon Jar

* Gilt-bronze Seated Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva

* Bronze Kundika with Silver Inlaid Landscape Design

These artifacts symbolize
the depth of Korea’s ancient royal culture and Buddhist artistry.

The crown ornament reflects royal authority and ceremonial prestige,
while the Pensive Bodhisattva represents
one of the most iconic masterpieces of Korean Buddhist sculpture.

Through this collaboration,
Korea’s cultural heritage is presented to global audiences
with the participation of one of the world’s most influential K-POP artists.
