From July 19 to 29, 2026, Busan will host the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee, one of the world's most significant international gatherings dedicated to the protection and future of cultural and natural heritage.
The Committee brings together representatives from 196 States Parties to the World Heritage Convention, along with heritage experts and international organizations, to discuss the conservation of World Heritage Sites and decide on new inscriptions.
This year is especially meaningful as Korea becomes the host nation for the first time, welcoming the global heritage community to Busan.
